Hi everyone, we are back with another episode of our podcast allowing you to get to know people working behind the scenes of the crypto industry.  Today we are joined by Rachid Ajaja who is a serial entrepreneur and expert in the fields of DeFi, quantitative analysis, and data science.

Welcome to the 168th episode of the Inside Crypto Podcast. This episode was recorded on October 11, 2023. The pace of crypto adoption is increasing especially in the areas of tokenization. Today Rachid fills us in on all the infrastructure Allianceblock is building and what the future holds.

Thanks, everyone for listening, and don’t forget to tune in next week when we speak to Ayush Ranjan, CEO and Co-Founder of Huddle01.

Topics Covered Today:

What are some of the biggest challenges facing the blockchain industry today?

Compliance infrastructure for decentralized solution

Can you tell us a bit about AllianceBlock and what it does?

What are your goals for AllianceBlock?

Infrastructure for tokenized decentralized markets

There’s a lot of use of the word “compliance” all over the website. I was wondering how you go about achieving this.

Compliance that is flexible for businesses, and privacy-preserving for end-users.

Talk about the rule engine and how businesses can use off-the-shelf rules or build their own, and how can this be customized according to jurisdiction.

For users, their identity and KYC information is truly self-sovereign because they only have to process it once and it can be reused via ZKPs

Given where we are today with the market, macro climate, etc. What are you seeing in terms of the partners you are working with? What are some of the interesting projects they are working on?

Talk about RWA tokenization with Arkefi, AgriFi (Toronet), Carbon Credits (Hyphen), etc. Also maybe compliance/identity — which is important for onboarding traditional industry use cases

Tell our audience about Nexera exchange and Allianceblock’s role

Fully decentralized on-chain orderbook harnessing the liquidity of Uniswap V3. Maybe even talk about future phases involving NexeraID and trading of tokenized RWAs.

You recently wrote an excellent article about tokenization. From my perspective, it seems to be happening though not in a way that is obvious. What do you think?

Lots of factors here — we are relatively early in tokenization use cases, even as it has been discussed for years now. In the early years liquidity was a big problem, for example. Now, companies acknowledge the power of blockchain and decentralized tech for tokenization, so it’s not anymore a matter of how, but when they will integrate it (this was mentioned by Luke Chmiel in the Twitter space with Arkefi)

What are your thoughts on the future of blockchain and DeFi?
