They begin with a new hybrid Value for Value format designed to keep episodes shorter without losing the community that supports them. From there, the conversation turns to the larger experiment: replacing a traditional top-down specification process with a pull-based model that learns from software already running in production.
The proposed workflow uses agents to scan participating open-source marketplace clients, identify their supported Nostr kinds and NIPs, compare implementation differences, flag interoperability problems and produce public reports. Humans still provide intent, judgment and coordination, but no single maintainer becomes the protocols benevolent dictator. The communal specification is distilled from what builders actually ship and what multiple clients prove works.

The proposed specification workflow\
\
Index the implementations. Build a public inventory of relevant marketplace clients and participating stakeholders, including Conduit, Plebeian Market, Shopstr, Nostr Boutique and others.\
Scan the code. Inspect each repository for supported event kinds, NIPs, extensions and deviations from the current specification.\
Publish and discuss the findings. Produce interoperability reports, contact maintainers where implementations conflict and use the community call to review unresolved questions.\
Distill the communal specification. Update the shared spec from patterns proven in production, especially where several independent clients converge on the same approach.
The goal is not to force every interface or codebase into lockstep. It is to define a common language broad enough for different products and user experiences to remain interoperable.
