We explored the GAPS Nutritional Protocol and its core emphasis on animal foods, gelatin‑rich meat stock, fermented dairy like 24‑hour kefir, and properly prepared plants (fermenting, sprouting, slow cooking). Dr Natasha contrasted meat stock with bone broth, spoke about rebuilding a damaged gut lining, and shared case experiences ranging from FPIES infants to adults with thyroid issues, gout and sciatica. We also touched on organ meats, salt quality, avoiding seed oils, sourcing from regenerative farms, and the practicalities of eating well on a budget. We ventured into hot‑button territory too—her critique of long‑term veganism, views on gluten and anti‑nutrients in seeds/grains, how fungal overgrowth can contribute to “auto‑brewery syndrome,” why some people struggle with fruit, and why preparation matters (e.g., salting/marinating pork). Beyond the kitchen, we discussed beekeeping and honey (natural vs conventional), Warré hives, and Dr Natasha’s forthcoming farming book rooted in her family’s regenerative farm in East Anglia. If you’re curious about the GAPS approach, the intro diet, and practical steps to restore microbial balance, this episode is a dense, candid guide from the originator herself.Dr Natasha Campbell‑McBride — Official Website: https://www.drnatasha.com/
