In TradFi, a dark pool is just confidential, off-order-book matching for large trades: buyer and seller don't know each other, and the trade is disclosed after the fact. It's an entirely legitimate, everyday practice. The problem is that Bitcoin's ledger is completely public. Move a doxxed UTXO from one custodian to an OTC desk and Twitter knows what you're doing before your disclosure does.LX is building the Bitcoin version: pseudonymous peer-to-peer order matching (simple RFQ, no price oracles) with settlement that happens entirely off-chain, so there's nothing for chain surveillance to clock. Under the hood it's a statechain: a 2-of-2 multisig with a co-signer that's completely blind. It doesn't know what it's signing. LX adds zero-knowledge proofs, so a receiver can verify a coin is valid without learning every previous owner of that coin. Users keep native L1 UTXOs and can plug the protocol into the custody and governance policies institutions already use.The conversation also goes where Janusz didn't expect: compliance.
