Right Said Fred are an English pop duo formed in London in 1989 by brothers Richard Fairbrass and Fred Fairbrass.
They rose to international fame in 1991 with their debut single “I’m Too Sexy,” a playful, self-aware pop hit that reached No.1 in multiple countries, including the US and UK. Follow-up singles like “Don’t Talk Just Kiss” and “Deeply Dippy” cemented their early success, with Deeply Dippy hitting No.1 in the UK.
Known for their tongue-in-cheek style, catchy hooks, and minimalist pop production, the duo carved out a distinctive place in early ’90s pop culture. After their initial chart dominance, they continued releasing music independently, building a loyal fanbase outside the mainstream spotlight.
In later years, Right Said Fred became as well known for their outspoken views as their music, which brought both renewed attention and controversy. Alongside this, they embraced new distribution models and direct-to-fan platforms, continuing to evolve their career on their own terms.
