Earlier this week, Virginia voters decided to sweep into office Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin, endorsed by former President Donald Trump, over former Virginia Governor, Democrat Terry McAuliffe. Democrats had a close scare as well in New Jersey where incumbent Governor Phil Murphy appears to have narrowly won re-election.
When we look at what is happening across the country in the wake of the California Recall and this week’s elections across the country, we see a 2022 election cycle that has implications for both Democrats and Republicans next year. The stakes are high over the next several months for both parties.
