It began with a tragedy, when 17-year-old Joni Eareckson Tada broke her neck in a diving accident, leaving her a quadriplegic. After struggling through ­depression and two years of rehabilitation, she emerged with new skills and a fresh determination to help others in similar situations. Through the grace of God –she continues to change the world, authoring nearly 50 books and impacting hundreds of thousands of people with disabilities and their families.
