As the war rages on in Ukraine, with Russia continuing its slow advance, the
people of the Bay Area and California continue to rally around the Ukrainian
people, sending money and support, some people even traveling to Ukraine’s
border with Poland to help refugees.  Meanwhile, the price of gasoline continues
to soar, with the price at the pump well over five dollars a gallon now and even
topping six bucks at some California gas stations.

Earlier this week, Congressman John Garamendi, who represents parts of the
East and North Bays, a senior member of the House Armed Services
Committee, was one of a small number of Congressional representatives who met
via Zoom with Ukraine’s widely celebrated president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
