Laying the Foundation for a New Internet (Alex McShane, Nostr Unconference)

Our current internet is broken. We're addicted to social media platforms that divide rather than connect, outrage rather than educate, but we don't want to leave because all our friends are there. Nostr could change that. It's not a new app, it's an entirely new system on which new apps are being built.

It's gaining steam, enough for a conference in Costa Rica last March and now the second one in Tokyo and Hong Kong. I speak with Alex McShane, one of the organizers, about what Nostr is, where he sees it going, and what holding a gathering in Asia means.
