The holidays are typically a slower time of year in politics, but there's still plenty going on in California. Many of the issues being discussed right now will likely be pushed the forefront as the state moves closer to the midterm elections next year.
Despite a failed recall effort and little statewide representation, Republicans in California still feel they can find issues that will energize voters to go to the polls.
