Preference means that if I find myself in a situation that could be inconvenient or difficult, I would choose or look for a way out, basically saying, "I prefer to do something else, so I will." This may be safe but it isn't always right.
Conviction, on the other hand, says, "If I'm in a situation, no matter what the consequences, I must follow God's direction."
Taking a stand based on conviction may not always be easy, but its rewards are worth the effort. It is the right choice to make.
