Marlys Woods is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) with a Masters in Clinical Psychology providing Music Therapy services throughout Orange County. She has been involved in music through performance her entire life.

- To become a Board Certified Music Therapist requires an undergraduate or graduate degree, a test, and an internship.
- A MT-BC uses music as a tool to work towards a goal.
- A music therapist is a trained musician on guitar, singing, and piano.
- Live music is usually preferred, but there are times when recorded music is more appropriate.
- Drums and other instruments are brought in and sometimes the students use them.
- Having musical ability is NOT a requirement in order to receive benefits from music therapy.
- Group sessions are often focused on how to identify what you’re feeling and how to express it to someone.
