Even if the name Tom Gleisner doesn’t ring a bell, you know his work. The Castle, The Dish, Utopia, and Melbourne Theatre Company's smash-hit production The Speechmaker all bear the hallmarks of his quick-witted but big-hearted satire. Now Gleisner brings us Bloom, a new comedic musical that celebrates the power of music to connect us across generations. Tom joins Around Town to discuss developing his first musical, working with a stellar ensemble cast and the choice to take one of the country’s ongoing failures – aged care – to craft an uplifting and joyful vision of hope.
