The serious, long-term health problems emerging in COVID-19 survivors

"I've been in nursing for 30 years now, and I can say that this was not at all what I initially expected. I really did not think it was going to be as severe as it did become. And even clinicians, physicians who've been practicing for 40 years have never seen anything like this." A lot of the focus during the coronavirus pandemic has been on the number of hospitalizations, the number of people who have died from COVID-19, and trying to prevent asymptomatic carriers from spreading the disease. But something that doesn't seem like it's talked about a lot are the people who get COVID-19 and end up suffering long-term health problems. They survive, but they're not quite the same.
