About the Guest:
Alexandra Burkowsky is a dedicated advocate of individual empowerment in wellness, education, and personal development. Her approach involves close collaboration with clients to help them rediscover their intrinsic self-value and authenticity through holistic practices, including breathwork, sound healing, meditation, and reiki.
Alexandra attained a bachelor’s in nursing from Florida Atlantic University in 2003. She then began working in pediatric medicine. Alexandra began her master’s degree program at Rush University specializing in Adult and Child Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. She was inspired to go into the psychiatric field since struggled all her life with severe anxiety due to childhood trauma.
Alexandra graduated with her Master’s in 2009 and began working in a mental health clinic and several recovery centers for drug and alcohol addiction. As much as she felt on purpose with her career by helping others, she realized that medical and psychiatric treatment for patients was lacking in many ways. She continued witnessing patients relapsing time and time again. Alexandra fell into the western medicine toxic cycle of pushing pharmaceuticals to patients instead of delving deep into the many layers that uncover the root of “disease”. It gripped her so much that she began losing her own identity of self. Little did she know she was suffering from not only anxiety again, but at the root cause was a deep spiritual malady that manifested as depression and alcoholism. Alexandra continued seeking help through therapy and other traditional western modalities that worked temporarily but never found the healing that was needed for a transformation.
Alexandra decided to embark on a new career path. She earned her certification in the field of education in 2020. By this point in her life, she had begun a spiritual journey and took an entirely holistic approach to her own healing. She began to research different modalities that sparked an incredible transformative process in her life. The healing power of breathwork that she experienced firsthand along with other holistic modalities is what inspired her to attain certification as an Elemental Rhythm Breathwork facilitator. Alexandra’s background in nursing and education inspires her to teach the science behind holistic practices to clients all around the globe. She embodies expertise in the wellness field as she assists in empowering and transforming individuals from all walks of life.
