In The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus paints a vivid yet counterintuitive picture of what it looks like to be a part of the kingdom of God. It wasn't what anyone expected. God is doing what? He is inviting who? He is blessing them? I become a part of this how? Two thousand years later his message is every bit as shocking, freeing, beautiful and challenging to us as it was to its first hearers.
