Along with playing college basketball at the University of Washington, Lorenzo played point guard in the NBA from 1980 to 1985 with the Warriors, Bucks, and Pistons. He became an assistant basketball coach at UCLA in 1992 and was a part of the 1995 National Championship team. Lorenzo went on to become the head coach at Pepperdine in 1996, was at Saint Louis University in 1999, and was at Washington from 2002 to 2017, where he was a 3x Pac-12 Coach of the Year.
