Much like Slash's hat and Side 1 opf Jimi Hendrix's second album, Paul McCartney's iconic Hofner 500/1 electric bass has entered the echelons of mysteriously disappeared music memorabilia.

Sir McCartney purchased the guitar for $38 from a Hamburg shop in 1961, and was used on a range of the Beatle's music... until it was gone.
