In this week's episode, we are excited to welcome Matt Valenti, the Associate Athletic Director at the University of Pennsylvania. A distinguished athlete in his own right, Matt has an impressive wrestling background, having secured the title of NCAA Champion twice at 133 lbs during his time at UPenn. His journey in wrestling began at Kittatinny Regional High School, where he was a two-time NJSIAA champion and also claimed the title of Junior National Freestyle Champion.
Valenti's accomplishments extend beyond the mat, as he has been honored with inductions into several prestigious halls of fame. These include the Kittatinny Regional High School Hall of Fame, the Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame, the NJSIAA Region I Hall of Fame, the EIWA Hall of Fame, and the Penn Athletics Hall of Fame. His legacy in the sport is both remarkable and inspiring.
During our engaging conversation, we not only delved into Matt's wrestling career and achievements but also explored the significance of the Penn Relays, an event that showcases the university's commitment to athletics and community engagement. Join us for an insightful discussion about wrestling at the NCAA level and what it means to be a part of such a storied athletic tradition.
