Considered by many to be one of the most influential rappers of all time, much of Tupac Shakur's work addressed contemporary social issues that plagued inner cities and he is considered a symbol of resistance and activism against inequality. But he wasn't without controversy. Jailed for sexual assault, sued for the wrongful death of a child and a figurehead of the East Coast, West Coast rap rivalry, Shakur's short life burned hot before coming to a tragic end.
