To rightly understand Hebrews, we must deepen our familiarity with events of God’s people in the Old Testament. Hebrews 3:7-11 is a quotation from Psalm 95 which is a poetic account of Numbers 13-14. The rebellion of God’s people in the wilderness and God’s judgment against them provide the backdrop for what follows in the message of Hebrews.
