In 1974, two couples had just graduated from college. George and Tina Martell along with Rick and Anna Delapena were about to start new jobs, but finances were tight…so they decided to pool their money and move into a house together.The home they found was creaky and old, but it was spacious. What’s more, it came with furniture…including a painting hanging over the fireplace, of a woman by that same fireplace. Surely, this must have been the lady of the house. Anna felt unsettled by the woman’s stare, but they left the portrait up, out of respect.The house, however, would not respect them.
