The jockeying for position continues in the race to succeed Dianne
Feinstein in the U.S. Senate, even though Feinstein still hasn’t said if she will run
for another term. The bombshell endorsement last week of Adam Schiff by former
Speaker Nancy Pelosi is still reverberating through the campaign.
Orange County Congresswoman Katie Porter got off to a hot start by
declaring her candidacy first and quickly flexing her fundraising muscles, but
Schiff jumped in the race soon after and showed he too, can raise plenty of
money, and then threw everyone for a loop by scoring the very early
endorsement of Speaker Emerita Pelosi. Probably the biggest endorsement you
can get in this race, except perhaps for that of Feinstein herself. So where does
this leave Oakland Congresswoman Barbara Lee, who also plans to enter this
race?
