Hebrews opens with an incredible declaration that the Son of God is fully God and upholds all things by the word of His power. Yet, it was God the Father’s will to have His Son step down in humility and taste death for humanity. Jesus, fully God, became fully man to pay for our sins through His death. He was then restored fully to His rightful position as King and to whom all of creation is in subjection. Hebrews 1 emphasized Christ’s deity, and now in chapter 2, we explore His humanity.
