City Council member and California political heavyweight Kevin De Leon made his first appearance at a city council meeting since the fallout from the leaked audio tape of him participating in a racist conversation that led to the resignations of Council President Nury Martinez and County Labor President Ron Harrera.
De Leon has two years left on his term and has said he has no plans to resign and the meeting quickly became pandemonium after he appeared between public attendees shouting for him to step down, and supporters chanting his name.
