Hey everyone and welcome to Refinery Life Church.
Today we are continuing our series titled “The Joy of Being a Giver.”
The fun of receiving is so great that many people never really experience the joy of being givers.
Jesus taught that we are to be givers if we are to find the true joy of living.
Today we are talking about The Gift Of Your Personal Testimony.
On festive occasions we often go home to those we love, bearing gifts.
We give gifts on birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings.
At Christmas time we do more giving and receiving than at any other time of the year.
But we should be busily engaged 365 days of the year in giving the great gifts that are within our power to give.
We have the necessity of giving the gift of encouragement and have considered the importance of giving the gift of forgiveness.
Today let us recognise the valuable opportunity of giving to those around us the gift of our personal testimony.
It is interesting to note in our text that our Lord declined to grant the request of the man out of whom the demons had been driven.
The man requested the privilege of accompanying Jesus and His disciples.
Instead, our Lord wanted him to go home and give to his family and friends the greta gift of his personal testimony concerning what God had done in his life.
These three rules also apply when it comes to giving our Christian testimony.
We must know something, say something, and be somebody.
We must practice our personal Christianity to the extent that when we give a verbal testimony, it will have weight.
When Jesus said, “You shall be My witnesses,” He was saying, “You must go and give the gift of your personal testimony.”
Paul declared to the Romans that faith comes by hearing.
