Bay Area ferry ridership struggles to return to pre-pandemic numbers

Experts say the iconic San Francisco ferries that shuffle commuters through the Bay are essentially on life support with the Bay Area News Group reporting that per-person costs to the ferry agencies during the pandemic soared over $300 in some cases and that ridership still hasn't been able to rebound to pre-pandemic numbers. 

This is as ferry agencies say the subsidized costs still may not be enough to keep them afloat and that money could run out by 2025.
