Between 1969 and 1980, one man took advantage of sex workers, hitch-hikers and runaways in Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, killing 41 women, or was it 88? Was he a serial killer? Or a serial confessor? Because despite his 41 murder confessions, he was brought to trial for just one homicide—a homicide that almost twenty years after his execution had DNA evidence proving he couldn’t be the killer.
