Hot on the heels of last weeks episode, we have a bottle that has been dubbed by many as the best value in bourbon. Is it a Beam or Heaven Hill product? Nope. It’s Sazerac’s own Very Old Barton 100 proof straight bourbon whiskey. This bourbon is a bottom shelfer that has been a fan favorite budget for years. It used to carry a 6 year age statement and that statement was dropped in favor of a “bottled in bond” designation. The bottle that you can find on the shelf currently has no age statement and simply states that this whiskey is “crafted.” Join us this week as we talk about Steven’s recent trip to Nashville and discuss whether we’ve found the perfect budget bourbon. Also, we give a special birthday shoutout to one of our favorite people in the bourbon community. If it’s Friday, it’s the Mash Up!
