One of the cornerstones of the Christian faith is forgiveness, and the fact that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has forgiven us of our sins. Most of us understand the importance of forgiving others, but have you considered the importance of forgiving yourself?
Mark 11:25-26 "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses." This verse suggests that if you don't forgive yourself, you’re hindering your relationship with the Father. Our Heavenly Father does not want you bound by past mistakes, because whom the Son has set free is free indeed.
