All this week, and much of last, we’ve been focusing on the unexpected race for
Congress in California’s 16th Congressional District, which covers much of the
Peninsula and Silicon Valley.
Anna Eshoo has been representing it for three decades but announced she will retire after her term expires a year from now. That set off a mad dash for candidates to file and get in the race, and about a dozen people have, including several very well-known, established local lawmakers.
KCBS Radio's Political Reporter Doug Sovern spoke with candidate Julie Lythcott-Haims. She is a member of the Palo Alto City Council, a New York Times bestselling
author, whose books include “How To Raise An Adult,” and the former Dean of
Freshmen at Stanford University. She is a graduate of Stanford University and
Harvard Law School and also has an MFA from California College of the Arts.
