We often think of hope in terms of optimism. We think that as long as I stay positive and “think happy thoughts” that it will all work out in the end. The Bible does not paint hope in optimistic terms or happy thoughts but rather with words of certainty and objective thinking. Believer, our God has made promises in his word to us and God asks us to not just believe in them but to bank our lives on them. We have as “an anchor for our souls” Jesus as the fulfillment of all those promises. We as believers are called to the practice of abiding in Christ and the practice of reminding ourselves of his promises. Have this strong encouragement, fellow believer, our God wins!
