The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is Singapore's first registered animal welfare organisation and an institution for animal rights advocacy in Singapore. We were privileged to have Dr Jaipal, Executive Director of the SPCA, on our show to explore the evolution of the organisation and some of the major issues it's made a stand for. In this episode, we
appreciated the grounds-up origins and heritage of the SPCA
discussed the nuances of animal rights advocacy, especially when it has to do with legislation
discovered the lesser-known dark secrets of purchasing bred animals and why adoption is preferable
If you're interested to learn more about the SPCA, check out their Youth Animal Welfare Symposium 2021 on 31 July 2021 (Saturday) from 09:00 – 16:00.
