Genesis 9:1-17
1. God always has a plan after disaster, v. 1
“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.”
2. Think about the way you treat each other, v.6
To see what God was responded to look back to Genesis 6:5-8...
“The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, 'I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.' But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.”
3. God keeps His promises, v. 8
This is the first of five covenants that God made with people in the Bible.
a) Noah
b) Abraham
c) Moses
d) David
e) Christ
“Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat: this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
