The nose explodes with rich earthy funk and florals, pineapple, banana, and coconut with touches of barrel spice as well. On the palate, the barrel aging asserts itself first with cinnamon and vanilla, then rounds out with coffee beans, honey, and bitter chocolate. The key is that it's NOT TOO SWEET, so you really can enjoy sipping it for hours. People keep trying to make rum the "new" bourbon. Thankfully they haven't because the deals and value are still there in spades.
