One of the more challenging things an individual can face is dealing with the dysfunction of their biological family. But God gave us our spiritual family to make up for what our nuclear family is incapable of giving us. God wants to make sure that we never use someone else's irresponsibility as an excuse for our own irresponsible behavior. He wants us to know that we don't have to accept and then pass on the negative tendencies and generational curses of our ancestors. God wants us to know that when we say yes to Jesus, when we believe in Him we are a new creation, so the negative proclivities that exist in our family don't have any control over us!. Jesus wipes the slate clean and is the catalyst for creating new behavior in us!



2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
