Shammah's defense of the pea patch God had given him was not a result of an insane affinity for peas. He understood the importance of obedience as a soldier and stewardship as a member of God's family. As a result, Shammah stood and fought to defend the land that belonged to the Lord that he was given. His desire was to use what was rightfully God's for God's glory.
