In this episode, we discuss “Coming Up Black” in America. Growing up as a Black child can be a unique experience with challenges and opportunities. We as children may be faced with racial discrimination, prejudice, and stereotypes, which can have a lasting impact on their self-esteem and sense of identity.
However, there are also many positive aspects of growing up in Black American culture, such as a strong sense of community, family values, and pride in one's heritage.
We discuss growing up in neighborhoods where we experienced racism and discrimination from a young age. In the form of micro-aggressions, such as being followed around a store or being assumed to be less intelligent than their white peers.
