More North Texas teachers under investigation for alleged cheating ... and more news

An additional 60 Texas educators are under investigation for potentially securing teaching certifications through a cheating ring, state officials said Thursday. The new probes by the Texas Education Agency bring the total number of educators accused of fraudulently obtaining certifications to roughly 160. In other news, North Texas native Scott Turner is taking charge of the federal department responsible for supporting affordable housing at a time when high rents and home prices remain a top concern of inflation-weary Americans. Turner addressed the workers he now leads Thursday as secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, saying, “we have to find long-term solutions to make homes affordable, to spur business creation, to create economic opportunity for every American family.”; the global battle for the future of artificial intelligence has begun in Texas.
