The recall attempt against Governor Gavin Newsom took more than just a lot of time and money, as a new poll from the Public Policy Institute of California is finding that it may have zapped the spirits of voters as well, with 4 in 10 likely voters saying it made them feel worse about politics and elections, and just 18% saying it made them feel better.
The unsuccessful attempt to oust Newsom from his seat cost nearly $300 million in election costs and just a year before the next chance to vote him out of office.
