Veteran journalist Ray Martin has defended his decision to label No voters as "d**ckheads and dinosaurs" at a recent Yes rally, saying he wasn't referring to every No voter.

Mr Martin stopped short of revoking his statement, however, arguing that many No voters are deciding based on ignorance.
