Sheykh Efendi corrected a young boy who shook his father’s hand. He said that the child must always kiss his father’s hand, and the hand of elderly people. Afterwards, Sheykh Efendi is saying that giving everything to your children does not help them. They need discipline and guidance. They need to know that their parents are firmly in charge and that they (the children) can depend on them. Otherwise, children who are spoiled and who have no limits are growing up with the knowledge and burden of the world, growing up too fast and turning to beat up the parents later, or to destroy themselves.
