Liberation psychology is a praxis that people can engage with in striving for liberation of individuals, of groups, communities and nations. Just like any discipline, it is a framework through which we see the world. I define it as one that acknowledges the existence of power dynamics inherent in relationships and social structures. Liberation psychology recognizes the forces of oppression within a society. It identifies how this force is internalized within each person and how we can strive to free ourselves from it.
