E014: A Difficult Decision has Nurse Turn to Holistic Health to Find True Healing for Herself and Her Infant Son
In this episode, I invite Mandy Gefle to tell her story, as she moved from being a nurse in a rural setting under high stress, into a state of burnout and then gave birth to her first son and suffered “postpartum depletion” as she calls it. A tough decision on her healing journey led her away from mainstream medicine, which was all that she knew, and into the world of holistic health, and using food to help her body heal and that of her son as well. Ultimately she left her job in mainstream medicine as it no longer aligned with her values to mask symptoms rather than teach people how to truly heal. Mandy shares her road to recovery and how she now helps others get healthy meals on the table without spending all day in the kitchen because food truly is the best form of medicine! Mandy has also offered listeners the opportunity to connect with her to discover the best way she can guide them to providing nutritious meals to your family.

Mandy Gefle, owner of Pura Vida Nutrition, specializes in helping clients who struggle with low energy, and exhaustion related to chronic stress. Associated symptoms have a major impact on individuals; both personally, and professionally.
Mandy realized her passion for prevention after recovering naturally from postpartum depression, without the use of pharmaceutical intervention. Drawing from her experience as a registered nurse in acute care, and her subsequent education as a holistic nutrition practitioner, she has found success in her business by focusing on the benefits of high-quality whole food, appropriate sleep, and effective stress management.
