On this episode, we have Annemarie Davies, aka the Queen of Sexy. Annemarie is an OG poler who originally discovered pole dance in 2002 while performing as a stripper—and is still an influential and undeniable force in the pole community today. She is the co-creator of the Bringing Sexy Back campaign, founder of United Pole Artists, and an expert performer and teacher of sensual dance. Annemarie had so much amazingness to share that her interview is a two-parter. In this episode, we discuss Annemarie’s experience witnessing the birth and growth of the pole dance community over the past 14 years, the history of contemporary pole dance, what makes someone sexy, and what inspired her to start United Pole Artists.
