The death toll continues to climb in Turkey and Syria following the tragic and catastrophic 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes on Monday.

But as relief efforts and mutual aid begin to flow abroad from California and the Bay Area, many are wondering whether similar quakes will have the same impact here.
