When Christ ascended into Heaven he was not distancing himself from humanity, but calling all of us to join him. The Ascension is a call by Christ for us to rise, to climb up to Heaven, and to become divinized ourselves.  Each and every human person has a destiny which rests in Heaven, it is our ultimate fulfillment and Christ has himself prepared the way. 

Take heart, Rev. Br. Adrian McCaffery, O.P. exhorts us. Christ has not abandoned us, not then and certainly not now. Take heart and climb. Climb up to the Lord, Ascend with Christ.
