Hello beautiful people! We are back again with another Makings of You. With this episode, it's our pleasure to introduce you all to Crystal aka Pow.
Born in Courtland, AL in the "Icestorm of 85" and named after the crystal-like ice that covered everything as far as the eye could see. Crystal (Pow) has always been viewed as a force of nature. She grew up in Somerville AL and currently resides in Decatur AL. The first child, grandchild, and great-grandchild she always found herself being the trial run for almost everything and credits her leadership abilities to be the oldest of 4 siblings.
Raised by her grandparents, she is often referred to as an old soul and feels very out of place in today's society. She often refers to herself as an intergalactic import since Aquarians are often described as "otherworldly”. She loves music of all genres, art, books, photography, and playing softball. She loves being outdoors and adores the night sky.
She is a wife to Bakari and mother to Taylor, Nolen,& Garrett, and a grandmother (Woogie) to Lily. She also has 2 nieces and 2 nephews she spoils regularly. She is an activist and enjoys participating in charity events.
Her goal in life is to be a genuine example that you don’t have to fall within societal norms to be a good person, and you don’t have to be rich and famous to change the world.
She expresses, "I came into this world with a brain, a backbone, a heart, and a voice. I intend to use them to be the change I want to see."
