Today we can't ignore the disturbing incident when Paul Pelosi was attacked with a hammer by a man who broke into his San Francisco home this morning looking for his wife, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Mr. Pelosi suffered a fractured skull in the attack but is expected to recover.

The violence comes amid intense political division ahead of the approaching midterm elections.
