Evangelicals rarely speak of Christ's mother, and when they do, it is sometimes with a slighting attitude, an eagerness to put her in her place contrary to Roman Catholic excess. But this "Most Blessed of Women" dare not be slighted by anyone with the mind of Christ, for she is our greatest witness of the miracle of the Incarnation, and she is the model of Christian faith. When a woman of the crowd blessed the woman who nursed Him, Christ pointed out the true source of His Mother's blessedness saying, "Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it." The woman who witnessed the birth and adoration of the Son of God "treasured all these things in her heart."
